Soo Young audition for movie "BABO"

On SBS TV’s “Strong Heart – Royal Family Special” aired on Dicember 1st , Sooyoung talked about how her experience in an audition for a drama. After listening to CN Blue member, Kang Minhyuk’s story on how he lost a role in a drama to fellow member, Jung Yonghwa in an audition, Sooyoung said, “Before debut, I’ve attended a lot of acting auditions too”.

Sooyoung said, “The most unforgettable audition I had was for the movie ‘Babo (Miracle Of A Giving Fool)‘. I wanted a role in the movie so badly but in the end Park Hasun was given the role”.

In the movie, Park Hasun played a role as a younger sister to the male actor, Cha Taehyun. According to Sooyoung participated in audition for this role.


Sooyoung added, “If I were to be casted for ‘Babo’, my debut with SNSD will be affected. After debuted with SNSD, I heard Park Hasun received a lot of attentions from that movie . I think everyone has their own time for everything . Therefore, Minhyuk will do well this time around”. For Sooyoung, the failure in the audition was a blessing in disguise.

Kang Minhyuk is currently being casted for SBS Monday-Tuesday drama “It’s Okay, Daddy’s Daughter”.

Tiffany wants to shorten her recovery time

SNSD member Tiffany, who had to pull out of ‘Hoot’ promotions due to a knee injury, is trying her best to recover quickly.

Tiffany injured her knee during a concert performance and was forced to stop promotions about a week ago. Consequently, the rest of the SNSD members are continuing their performances without her.  Although Tiffany was advised to rest 4 weeks for a full recovery, it was recently revealed that the idol is passionately trying to complete her treatment sessions in order to shorten recovery time.

Although she tore a ligament on her left knee, Tiffany decided to don a cast for her entire leg in order to reduce movement, and speed up her recovery.

An affiliated individual stated, “Tiffany is placing all her efforts and focus into getting better. With the current situation, she needs 4 weeks of recovery but she has shown the will to recover in only 2 weeks.”Additionally, this individual revealed that the reason Tiffany wishes to recover faster is so that she would be able to attend the ‘FNS Singer Festival‘ in Japan.

SNSD “hoots” K-Chart on Music Bank + other performances

Music Bank is back for the first week of November with a fun and exciting show filled with amazing performances!

Besides the usual fare, there was a comeback by Girl’s Day, who underwent member changes, December’s comeback, miss A and 2PM saying their goodbyes, rookie girl group VNTmaking their debut, and Kim Jang Hoon leading the charge together with this juniors with tribute stages to legendary Korean musician, Kim Hyun Sik.

SNSD and SG Wannabe were up for #1 on the K-Chart this week. In the end, it was SNSD who “hooted” their first trophy for “Hoot,” and it’s surely the first of many to come.

SNSD’s Yuri voted #1 for glass-like skin

SNSD’s Yuri was voted the girl group member with the best skin.

A survey was conducted from September 27th to October 18th where 748 people voted on ‘The girl group member with the best glass-like skin without any blemishes?‘ SNSD’s Yuri won first place, earning 362 votes (48.3%). Second place went to 2NE1’s Dara, with 209 votes (27.9%). BEG’s Ga-Inwas third place with 167 votes (22.3%).

Dr. Han Seung Sub commented, ‘SNSD’s Yuri has clear and bright skin without blemishes or freckles. The skin is a good indication of your internal organs’ state. Yuri possesses clean and clear skin, which also means that she is in perfect health…Dara and Ga-In’s fresh faces also show that they have clear skin. It’s also a neat coincidence that ‘yuri‘ means glass in Korean. Who do you think has the best skin?

SNSD’s website updated with teasers for 3rd mini album comeback!

Many of you are eagerly awaiting Shoujo Jidai (SNSD’s) release of their Japanese version of ‘Gee’ on October 20th. However, before that happens SNSD’s official website at SMTown has recently been updated with their Korean comeback with various teasers and photos for their 3rd mini album ‘Hoot’.

Currently, the only teaser photos are released for Jessica, Tiffany, and Seohyun. It seems like they’re going for a bit of a retro / Charlie’s Angels type theme with guns and weapons.

SNSD Jessica’s Twitter account suspended due to anti-fans

Just three days after its creation, SNSD’s Jessica had her Twitter account suspended due to anti-fans.

The account (twitter.com/jess_syj) opened on October 13th, and it’s speculated that hordes of anti-fans falsely abused the “Report Spam” system. Users can find their accounts suspended if there are massive spam complaints sent to the “Help Centre”. Numerous anti-fans also blocked her profile.

On the plus side though, this incident reveals that the overseas popularity of SNSD has increased to a formidable presence over the years, as the group seems to have a proportional amount of haters to fans.

I guess this is just another reason why some celebrities don’t use Twitter.

SNSD `s Taeyeon And Seohyun Voice Actors For 'Despicable Me'

A few months ago, SNSD members, Seohyun and Taeyeon were chosen to dub the 3-D animation movie, ‘Despicable Me‘ or also known in Korea as ‘SuperBad.’

In ‘SuperBad,’ Taeyeon will be taking the role of Margo, the older sister in the movie.  Margo is very intelligent and not really fond of the “bad guy” main character, Gru.  After a while, Margo opens her heart to her Gru with much understanding.  Just like Margo caring for her little sisters, Agnes and Edith, Taeyeon is a born leader as she was SNSD’s ex-leader who took care of her members too.

Suprisingly, Seohyun took the role of Edith, the crazy, but shy sister of the three.  From what the staff reported, Seohyun’s image transformation was shocking.

As a bonus, pictures of Seohyun and Taeyeon with their respective characters and a recording clip was released.

Stay tuned for ‘SuperBad,’  it will hit theatres in Korea on September 16th!
